IBPS Notification 2011 for the recruitment of Clerks through a Common Written Exam on 18th September 2011:


Today i.e on 23rd August 2011 the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has issued the Notification for the recruitment of Clerks through a Common Written Exam (CWE) that is Tentatively scheduled to be held on 27th November 2011.IBPS is conducting this Common Written Exam for Clerks in Collaboration with 19 Public sector Banks..The Complete advertisement can be downloaded at the end of this article or at the Official Website of IBPS (www.ibps.in)

Here is the List of Participating Banks for Recruitment of Clerks through a Common Written Exam 2011

A Candidate who aspires to join any of the 19 Public Sector Banks Mentioned above will have to appear in this Common Written Exam for Clerks on 27th November 2011.IBPS will issue scorecards to all the students who appear for the exam.

All those candidates who have been issued scorecards can apply in any of the participating banks when the bank will invite applications for particular post.It must be noted that merely specifying the IBPS criteria does guarantee that you are eligible for Individual bank,because each bank has its own Selection Criteria which will be mentioned in the advertisement issued by the Individual Banks.

It must be noted that since Clerical recruitment would be done State wise,so candidates can apply for only one State or UT.So candidates will have to appear only in that center of a state where they would like to seek employment.

Essential Qualifications for IBPS Clerical Recruitment 2011: To Apply for Common Written Exam of Clerks a candidates must meet the following Eligibility Criteria.

Nationality: A Candidate must be
  • Citizen of India  (For complete details on Nationality,candidates must Check the Advertisement at the end of this article)
Age Limit:  Min: 18 years and Max: 28 years

Educational Qualifications: A Candidates must have

Passed Matriculation(10th Class/SSC) with 60% Marks under (10+2+3 pattern)
OR
Passed HSC (12th Class) with 50% Marks under (10+2+3 pattern) or equivalent Qualification
OR
A Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University of India

(Note:The Educational qualification specified above is only for General Category Candidates.Reserved Category Candidates can check the Advertisement at the end of this article)

Pattern of Common Written Exam for Clerks: The IBPS Common written Exam for Clerks shall consists of 250 Questions carrying 250 marks with a duration of 150 minutes.The Objective tests shall consists of following sections:

Test of Reasoning : 50 Questions carrying 50 marks

Test of English Language: 50 Questions carrying 50 marks

Test of Numerical Ability: 50 Questions carrying 50 marks

Test of General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry :50 Questions carrying 50 marks

Test of Computer Knowledge: 50 Questions carrying 50 marks


Application Fees:  An Application fees of Rs. 50/- (for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM) and Rs.350/- for all others candidates will have to be paid either through Online Mode offline Mode:

Offline Mode: In Offline mode candidates will have to deposit the fees mentioned above by visiting the below mentioned banks through a cash voucher that can be downloaded from the IBPS Official Website (www.ibps.in)

(II) Payment of fees/ intimation charges through NEFT at branches of other 13  Public Sector Banks

Candidates are required to fill the NEFT receipt(Format available on IBPS website) as required by the Bank with beneficiary details as follows.

Online Mode: In Online mode candidates will have to pay fees at the time of Filling the Online Application.The Payment Gateway is integrated with Online Application form.Candidates must have Credit Card/Debit card and Internet banking before depositing Application fees.

After the Deduction of amount from your account the System will generate an Electronic Receipt that must be printed and preserved till the common written exam and that too must be surrendered to the Invigilator at the Examination hall.

Procedure for Applying: Before Applying Online Candidates must ensure that they have the following documents with them

  • Scanned Photo and Signature
  • Application fees details (Only for Candidates who submitted Application fees through Offline Mode)
  • A Valid Email Address
  • Details of Marks of Qualifying Exams
Steps for Online Application for Clerks :

1.Candidates can apply online only at the Official Website of IBPS (www.ibps.in).

2.Candidates will have to click on the Link marked as CLICK HERETO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- CLERICAL CADRE NOVEMBER 2011 to open the application form

3 Candidates will have to carefully fill the Application details and follow the on screen instructions

4.After submitting the Online Application the System will generate an application form.Apart from this registration Number and Password will be generated.Both of these will have to be preserved till the Exam

Note: There is a provision to modify the submitted Online Application. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct their details in the Online Application if any. This modification facility will be available up to 26.09.2011. After this date, no modification will be permitted. Candidates should take utmost care while filling in the Online Application. Please note that no modification in fee payment details will be permitted for candidates who pay fees/ intimation charges through the online mode.
